A few GOOD mainsprings or Wind-Up's lol

We have little time for random ceremonious sentences before the actual reviews darn it so I'll skip my standard opening line that I always have about the cards being reviewed before I review considering I have the Read More option at all times. There is no picture for these cards yet but everyone please hope that Exceed isn't changed to Xyz in TCG if it is I will personally take white out and erase that and replace it with Exceed... in pencil... (It's the extra deck how can that be cheating lol)

Mainspring Kitty Cat
Earth
Level 2
Beast/Effect
Activate only during the Main Phase, Select 1 Monster your opponent controls and return it to its owners hand. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.
800/500

AMAZING!!! Bounce any monster your opponent controls is really nice especially after a successful Magician with Snail to murder any 1 S/T... Then a free Rank 2 Exceed. There are some really nice things Mainspring/Wind-up's can do but the next card is the epitome of greatness for the archetype.

Spring Rewinding
Trap Card
Select 1 face-up Level 4 or lower "Mainspring" Monster you control and return it to your hand, and Special Summon 1 "Mainspring" monster with the same Level as the returned Monster from your hand.

Greatness!!! It not only replaces your used Mainspring with another one but it also allows reuse of the one you returned... think of it like this... Random Mainspring Soldier on field... Summon Magician use Soldier... Special out Kitty Cat... Bounce your opponents monster or Special out any Level 4 Mainspring... Activate this on Magician... Special back the same Magician (Even though it seems simultaneous the Monster must actually return to your hand first before you Special Summon). Use the other Level 4 Mainspring's effect to bring out another Mainspring like Snail to bounce the backrow... Exceed for Rank 4 (any Rank 4)

Then to add to the gayness of Mainspring nonsense...

Mainspring Bat
Wind
Level 1 (Yep 3 of these make Baby Tragon or No. 83 Galaxy Queen or Super Star Mira (Best choice will be reviewed tomorrow))
Machine/Effect
Activate only during your Main Phase. Change this face-up Attack Position Card to face-up Defense Position, and select 1 "Mainspring" Monster in your graveyard and add it to your hand. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.

Beautiful!!! So in other words it's an E.Hero Ocean for Mainsprings except once per face-upness... NOTE: Can become pretty massive advantage coupled with Mainspring Manufacture and Mainspring Magician. In otherwords the deck doesn't need many monsters meaning CONTROL!!! lol. If you use Mainsprings expect massive pluses every turn... and remember Mainsprings are fun. They aren't broken luckily and also there are too many broken things still legal anyway...

Mainsprings got a ton of new cards in the next set but at the same time that set isn't nearly done being revealed so expect a few more Mainsprings to pop up hopefully a non-Exceed easy Special Summon Boss that is completely one-sidedly unfair or at least on Machina Fortress's level lol.

  1. Why bother? It's pronounced the exact same anyway. Since "Exceed" was a fanslated name anyway, as in the anime the word used is pronounced "Ex-eee-zu", and Xyz is pronounced "Ecks-ee-z". Not too big a shift.

  2. I just don't like how it looks. I know how the pronunciation game goes... but Dawn of the XYZ looks really really dumb. Xyz... well they better tell people how to pronounce it in the booklet... I don't want to ever have to hear someone say "X,Y,Z Summon" (You know someone will do that). I'm fine with it now though I'm more pissed about Number 39: Utopia (Coulda at least kept it as No.39 (Though Utopia makes absolutely no sense))

Leviath Dragon makes more sense than Revise. Wind-up makes more sense than Mainspring. Right now I just hate UTOPIA!!! (IN the anime it says it's own name... I will cringe if I ever hear "Utopia!!!")
