Since everyone is doing it (Ban List Hopes)

My Banlist Hopes for September...

Forbidden:
Dandylion
Monster Reborn (Was originally on the list but it wasn't a realistic ban)
Dark Hole (Same as above so I didn't put it)

Limited:
Fishborg Blaster
T.G. Hyper Librarian
Heavy Storm
Tsukuyomi
Yata-Garasu
Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier
Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki
Debris Dragon
Dark Magician of Chaos

Semi-Limited:
Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind
Destiny Draw
Skill Drain
Black Whirlwind
Torrential Tribute
Solemn Judgment
Reborn Tengu (Wasn't on list earlier because it's highly doubt-able they'll do another Emergency Ban)
Scapegoat

Unlimited:
Destiny Hero - Malicious
Bottomless Trap Hole

There is a lot to explain about this list...

Edited: but not updated

Forbidden:
Dandylion: This card is just too good...
Starlight Road: To make plays even less safe

Limited:
Fishborg Blaster: Too many loops.
T.G. Hyper Librarian: If you summon 2 of these and sync for formula you plus 4 (It's a few card investment)
Heavy Storm: Card is necessary for my ideal format.
Tsukuyomi: Makes monsters more vulnerable and didn't need to stay banned.
Yata-Garasu: Good card but with the rest of the list becomes easily counterable.
Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier: Needs a limit to stop any abuse.
Solemn Warning: Making it take more skill to use correctly
Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki: Sams shouldn't have instant Shi En so easily.
Debris Dragon: With Dandy banned this should help hurt plants a bit.
Imperial Order: A good way to protect your backrow from Heavy, Trunade, and MST. It also forces cards like Dust Tornado to have use again.
Dark Magician of Chaos: Further giving reason to Imperial Order returning

Semi-Limited:
Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind: Gives a slight boost to Blackwings
Destiny Draw: No longer needs to stay Limited
Skill Drain: It's too good now that there are so many monsters that don 't care or benefit from this card.
Black Whirlwind: Putting Blackwings a bit more on the map
Torrential Tribute: This is why somethings are allowed to exist again... More monster wipes makes plays even less safe.
Solemn Judgment: With Warning going to 1 it's only appropriate that this goes to 2 and considering how many more threats there are it's necessary.

Unlimited:
Destiny Hero - Malicious: No longer much of a threat
Scapegoat: No Dandylion so this is a replacement for free tokens.
Bottomless Trap Hole: Unimportant at 2 might as well put it at 3.

I'd like your thoughts on my list just don't be a douche about it.

4 comments:

  1. I actually have a lot of problems with your list, I'll do these in reverse:
Malicious to 3: The Destiny engine was so broken with Mali at 3. With Tengu untouched on your list, and Malicious at 3, synchro spam much?
Scapegoat to 3: Stall format? Yea stall format.
Solemn Judgment to 2: Solemn stops pretty much ANYTHING. Warning to 1 does NOT justify bringing this up to 2.
Whirlwind to 2: Why? Blackwings are still good.
Gale to 2: Gale is one of the best tuners and it's widely splashed outside of blackwings.

Yata to 1: This was banned for a reason. Not letting your opponent draw is unhealthy for the game. Also searchable with Sangan.
Imperial Order to 1: Continuous negation... all it costs you is LP! Broken and banned for a reason.
Tsukuyomi to 1: Vulnerable you say? I dunno man, getting to flip Morphing Jar or Ryko face-down...
DMOC to 1: No. Monster Reborn and Dark Hole are untouched on your list. Too good to come back.
Kageki to 1: Why not just limit ShiEn to begin with? Kageki is just a Marauding Captain, and MC is at 3.
Debris Dragon to 1: Ban Dandy and it's not that big of a problem. To hit plants, hit Lonefire or Pot of Avarice.

Starlight Road to 0: I have no idea why this should be banned. It's a balanced card that punishes herp-derp mass destruction. You're bringing back Storm and upping TT to 2 to limit the set-5-backrow-your-turn and i-vomit-my-deck's-monsters-onto-the-field-in-1-turn plays, so why take away from that by banning SLR?

    I'm ok with everything else

  2. Furthermore you can ALWAYS pay for Solemn Judgment, but you can't necessarily always pay for Solemn Warning, so why up Solemn J to 2? =S

IDK it seems to me like to fix our current problems, you're bringing back even bigger problems. I am VERY VERY against some of your choices (notably Malicious to 3, Solemn to 2, and the banned cards you want back)

  3. Well if you think about it in a different way bringing back some of these power cards isn't that big of a deal anymore... Solemn Judgment is technically worse than Solemn Warning... Warning yes is a 2000 flat cost but it can negate more than Solemn Judgment can regarding monsters...

I brought back Imperial Order because of Heavy, Trunade, Reborn, Dark Hole, Typhoon as a way to protect backrow. Starlight Road gives you advantage by taking away your opponents power card sorta unfair.

Tsukuyomi though great I wouldn't expect to see much use from... Most of our decks today don't benefit much from it... Yata was only bad because the lock was so easy back then... now though your opponent has to overextend to the upmost to be locked by it. due to all the graveyard options decks have now.

DMOC is honestly great but you'd have to either tribute for it or run cards that allow you to Special Summon it freely. Those kinds of set-ups are rare outside of Monarchs and Special Heavy decks.

Scapegoat to 3 isn't Stall format... Now that we have easy access Extra decks it is easy to rid your opponent of such things with a single Red Archfiend swing... (Or Nitro Warrior) It also makes up for the banning of Dandylion.

Malicious to 3 is because it's just not a useful engine anymore know that we have such things as Tengu and T.G. and Plants...

Oh and about Solemn Judgment to 2 It's only because of the large amount of powerful cards I would bring back. I was debating putting Solemn at 3... I'll edit it a little as the Starlight Road thing was a little random.

  4. Solemn Judgment is the best trap card in the game lol, I have no idea what you're talking about. Unless it gets negated by an opposing Solemn / Dark Bribe / Seven Tools, at no point in the game are you EVER going to lose if you have Solemn Judgment.

Imperial Order stops ALL spells, so it stops your opponent from playing Book of Moon on a Stardust, Dark Hole, etc. The 700 LP cost is negligible. Broken card is broken.

As for SLR, that's not quite true. Actually it is and it isn't. SLR gives people another way to counter mass-destruction, and skillful players will be able to play around it. It's not like Starlight Road is a counter trap either, so you can still stop it with Trap Stun / Seven Tools / ShiEn / Barkion or negate it with Oppression

I still feel Tsukuyomi is a very powerful card, but yea compared to some of your other choices it's relatively tame

You are bringing Malicious back to 3. Treeborn Frog is still available. DMOC is easy to bring out. If such a busted card is available for use, people will experiment towards finding the easiest way to bring it out and abuse it.

Not all decks run tuners, and not all extra decks have the space for RDA, so some decks like stun will be forced to punch a token at a time. Enemy Controller would become so good with this, you basically have 4 tokens to tribute off for E-Con's stealing effect, or to use as synchro material. Bad.

Don't underestimate Malicious. 1st of all you're upping D-Draw to 2. You didn't hit Future Fusion, and there still is Dark Grepher and Armageddon Knight. There's tons of ways to dump Mali to the grave, and unlike Tengu, you can choose when to use it's effect. This is NOT a good idea, try playing some of the older Tag Force games where you could use the Destiny Engine, and imagine how it would be with Tengu in the mix. Bad idea.

Lol if you're only upping Solemn Judgment to 2 "only because of the large amount of powerful cards [you] would bring back", how about not bringing them back at all? No need to bring back problems from formats past, and bring back more even more problems to solve the 1st batch of problems. Yea? Yea.
