Photon Shockwave Review 1

Alright I wish these cards were in DN with Xyz so I could just test them lol but for first impressions they are all really good for the most part.


So I'll go in set order starting with PHSW- JP001 to PHSW - JP015

For a first card in the set this is very different than normal because Normal Monsters go first in the set over the Main Characters new Effect Monsters. (We rarely have normal monsters nowadays.) This cards art is just wierd... a background of pretty hearts and pretty colors with a retarded bunny in the middle drooling everywhere and just being fat in general.


This card though is a level 1 Beast Normal Monster which is nice and then you see it's stats and chuckle... anyone remember Charcoal Inpachi? This is a better version of that due to typing and only have 50 less defense but actually has attack points.

This is such an awesome card for one reason alone it's a Rare Blue-Eyes White Dragon style monster.... and strictly speaking as a pure monster this card is better than Blue-Eyes White Dragon but Blue-Eyes has actual support cards and this doesn't... Once DN is updated I'll build decks using every card in the set which will be funsies. I love it's flavor text if Yugioh cards had more condensed text so that cards weren't so stupid long all cards should have flavor text it makes me like MTG more than necessary lol (Though Cardfight Vanguard's flavor text is beastly)

Awesomenesslysucky... What is the point of this card? To suicide so that an opponent's monster can't attack? I mean I even was able to build an Achaacha Archer deck that semi-worked but a deck even using this card is bad...

Ugh... Baby Toragon makes this card useable lol but otherwise it's bad... I mean really Opti-Camouflage Armor so it can attack directly... swing against a clear field to get rid of a Oppression or something...

Needless to say this card is not bad at all... Throw it in to a deck and you can Xyz at will... Dark and Reptile aren't bad traits either it allows a more Chaos oriented Worm deck (Normal Xex Special This drop Yagan... Reset Yagan... Xyz for Hope to protect Yagan...)


NEXT: Oooh finally more retarded plant stuff for no reason... Except Yuma used it...

Uh.... Discard 1 Specific Card to special summon this card... it's cool but if it said from the grave it would be greatness... but in a deck that runs 3 of this and 3 Growing Pinecone it can be pretty rediculous... Turn 1... Special Fallen Cone and Growing Pinecone so that's a 2 for 2... Normal Glow-up so that's a 1 for 1... Sync for Formula plus 1... revive Glow-up sync for formula plus 1... so you are back to 5 cards in hand but you also now have a 4 card graveyard. It can be good but if they made a Rank 1 Xyz that only takes 2 Level 1's it would be great in Plants

Wow... This is actually really good. It's a Necro Gardna for Fish and it weakens your opponent's monster by more than enough for a kill most of the time. It's also one of your prime Xyz Material monsters in the deck due to it being useful after being dropped as a material...


NEXT: Fish Xyz so stupidly (Note: We already have Coelacanth nonesense lol)

When you successfully Normal Summons or Special Summons a Fish-, Sea-Serpent- or Aqua-Type Monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card cannot be used as Synchro Material Monster.

Rediculous... A dopplewarrior for Fish (No tokens or Synchros but who cares we can Xyz) No more needs to be said.


NEXT: This card is one of the few cards that work like Dandylion with Xyz (Dandy counts because it doesn't care how or from where it is sent to the graveyard)

When this card is sent to the Graveyard, activate by selecting 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. The selected monster loses 500 ATK.

It's good due to it's 1500 stats which is rediculous for a Level 3 Fish with a beneficial effect... That even works when dropped as an Xyz Material. but there are better cards you will be using like the Frilled Shark.


NEXT: The Poster Child and biggest monster in the entire set and once again a better blue-eyes just without the support!!!!
Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon

This card can be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Releasing 2 Monster you control with 2000 ATK or more. During the Battle Step this card battles with an opponent's monster, you can remove from play this card and that 1 opponent's monster. The monsters removed from play by this effect are returned to the field at the end of the Battle Phase. If that removed monster was an Exceeds Monster, this card gains 500 ATK x the number of Exceeds Material Monsters under that opponent's monster when it was removed from play.

WOW This card is just stupid good... think about it and don't look at the Special Summon requirements... This card can be summoned by tributing any 2 monsters... It can also be Special Summoned however you want... It can also be Special Summoned by it's own effect... I'm going to build a deck around this card on DN once it's out on there (Probably in 3 days but we need Xyz on there like now considering they are out so if it isn't up to date it just will slowly die). Alright so this cards effect activates during the Battle Step of the Battle Phase meaning upon declaration... The turn player also retains priority to activates effects meaning that Mirror Force can be dodged it seems lol. This card also resets that monsters existence back to it's base values meaning Xyz lose their materials and become nearly useless aside from being weaker beaters than this... Also if it was an Xyz this monster gains a maximum of 1500 an average of 500-1000 and a minimum of 0. And those monsters won't come back until the End of the Battle Phase so that means your other monsters just got free hits in.


NEXT: Photon isn't quite an archetype but rather a loose gathering of related cards.

(Witch of the Black Forest isn't coming back) This card is really nice especially with another 2 cards I'll review another day. Imagine!! You are a spirit on the Planet Cray and whoops wrong game. This card can swarm if you swarm with it lol. It's not bad and it's an Honest target which I hope doesn't go above 1 because there a new Honest or two later in the set.


NEXT: Oooooh Sinister Serpents less broken brother that can't miss timing yay

Card is really really nice it can be summoned nearly by anything especially an Xyz I'll show later in about 2 days. It's also really good with Hand Destruction because now Hand Destruction isn't a pure minus.

This card is pretty bad but it is level 3 but the direct attack draw back is pointless... Watt's don't have that Drawback and are better than it.

Just saying, Plasma Ball's use is primarily to summon the Meklord Emperors in the very same battle phase it attacks, It's basically -900 opponent life points while getting a bigger monster (Granel/Skiel/Wisel) onto the field at the same time.

This is why Plasma Ball shouldn't have been made when you have this better alternative... This card is a one turn Jinzo... (And like Jinzo you can only negate it you can't respond to it's summon with a Trap).

  2. I guess that's a nice gimmicky use but outside of that nearly pointless kind of play... is there any real point to it... (No one is going to main that card in Scraps (Which summon them in the same turn they plus heavily))

    Also no its use is for Rank 3 Xyz as shown in the anime mostly due to it's Light Attribute making it slightly more useful. Anyway I'm quite tired and also it's just not a great card in my opinion. Only use I could possibly think of is in Watts as an extra Direct Attacker so that Watts can summon Grannel (Wisel and Skiel go against Watts point of attacking with multiple monsters)
